BIGGEST AND CHEAPEST ULTRASONIC PARTS CLEANER
Manual cleaning methods can be time-consuming and quite challenging to reach into all the different places of your metal car parts.
If you’re constantly working on different automotive projects you'll want to invest in an Ultrasonic Cleaner, the bigger the better. That's where the 30L Ultrasonic Cleaner from Vevor tools comes in. It works great for preparing parts for powder coating.
WHY BUY A 30L ULTRASONIC CLEANER?
Perfect for Larger Parts: Unlike smaller ultrasonic cleaners, the 30L capacity or close to 8 gallons allows you to clean much larger parts fully submerged.
Versatile Cleaning: You can fit multiple smaller parts in the 30L unit too; including nuts/bolts, pulleys, brackets, and tons of other miscellaneous parts together. Thus saving you time.
THE SPECIFICATIONS
First, let's go over the size of the 30L Ultrasonic Cleaner unit.
Its internal measurements come in at 19 inches for length, 11 3/8 inches for width, and 6 1/4 inches for height.
It also includes a basket to place parts creating separation from the parts and the bottom of the unit.
The Vevor tools unit also has 10 transducers at the base which generate ultrasonic waves that help break apart dirt, oil, and grime from your parts.
The unit has an off/on toggle switch where the main power cord connects.
On the right, there's a drain plug with an included attachment and hose for easy solution removal.
Once the unit is topped with fluid, you can set the temp to a maximum of 80c (176 Fahrenheit)
Ultrasonic cleaning timer can be set up to 30-minute increments.
The entire unit is made of stainless steel which helps prevent corrosion.
It also comes with a lid that helps reduce the escape of cleaner/water evaporation when running on a higher heat setting.
BEST WAY TO CLEAN PARTS IN AN ULTRASONIC CLEANER
1.Gather Your Parts: Collect all the parts that need cleaning. Don't worry about how dirty they are because that's the ultrasonic cleaners' job.
2. Choose The Right Cleaning Solution: Make sure to choose the appropriate cleaning solution for your parts. If you're cleaning aluminum parts, ensure that the solution is safe for use on aluminum like Simple Green. You can also utilize cleaners designed for rusty metal, which we have reviewed here.
TIP: How To Save On Cleaning Solution: For smaller parts, you can use the bag method which requires less cleaning solution. For larger parts, you can add the cleaning solution directly into the tank with some water.
3. Fill the Tank To The Top: Fill the ultrasonic cleaner tank to the top with water and dilute your cleaning solution to the correct ratio. This is crucial, especially when using heat, to prevent the tank from overheating. If you’re using the bag method, place your parts in a bag with the cleaning solution and submerge the bag in the tank filled with water.
4. Arrange the Parts: We like to place smaller parts directly on top of the transducers that create the ultrasonic waves for the best results. Ensure larger parts are fully submerged in the solution.
5. Set the Heat and Timer: Adjust the heat and cleaning time based on the manufacturer’s recommendations. Typically, a higher temperature and longer cleaning time yield better results.
6. Start Cleaner: Turn on the ultrasonic cleaner and let it work its magic. You’ll notice the dirt and grime being lifted off your parts. We recommend flipping your parts after 30 minutes so that the ultrasonic waves can directly hit and clean the other side of your parts.
7. Drain the Tank: Once the cleaning cycle is complete, empty your parts. If the solution doesn't look too bad you can reuse the solution. You can also drain the tank with the included hose. Follow all safety and local regulations for cleaning dumping. Our local municipality accepts used cleaning solutions.
8. Rinse, Dry, and Prep: Rinse your parts with clean water and dry them thoroughly before reassembling. Depending on the cleaner you use, add any additional solution to your parts to prevent flash rust such as metal prep.
SHOULD YOU BUY THE 30L?
The 30L Ultrasonic Cleaner is a must-have for any auto enthusiast looking to restore LARGE car parts. It’s efficient, versatile, and incredibly effective. If you don't need a 30L unit there are varying smaller sizes that work just as well. The 10L from Vevor is also great for smaller parts too.
