YESWELDER

YesWelder seems to be everywhere these days. Not only do they design and sell welders, but they also have a strong social media presence where they share crazy welding videos from welders around the world.

A bit of research shows that YesWelder is a Chinese based company that originally sold OEM welders to other businesses. Zhu Chengfeng, one of the cofounders pivoted the company to selling welders directly to consumers through Amazon, Shopify, and recently through their Kickstarter campaign which has raised over $1.9 million dollars in pre-orders.

YesWelder’s focuses on ease of use. Most of their new welders being released are Multi Process welders. These types of welders support different welding such as MIG, TIG, stick, and flux. Most of the time if you want to cut metal, you then have to buy another device or a plasma cutter. One really cool thing about YesWelder is some of their welders also include a plasma cutting functionality. This truly provides an easy to use all-in-one welder solution for DIY hobbyist.

But with all the options to choose from, which YesWelder should you buy?

BEST YESWELDER FOR BEGINNERS?

For beginners you’ll probably need to start with something that supports 120V. The YesWelder MIG-205DS-B Multi-Process MIG Aluminum Welder is a great pick because it supports 120 and 220v input and isn’t too expensive. It’s also a multi-process welder meaning it supports MIG, TIG, Flux, and stick welding too.

If you can’t afford to initially invest in welding gas, you can start with gas-less flux or stick and move to MIG/TIG with gas later. If you plan on welding aluminum, you can purchase an add-on aluminum spool feeder gun to the MIG-205DS-B too. TIG on the MIG-205DS-B is also lift start which will make starting an arc a little easier than say scratch start which you can watch more details about here.
